Dr. Steven Bethard joined the iSchool in 2016 after serving as an assistant professor of computer and information science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His research focuses on natural language processing and machine learning theory and applications. He teaches Neural Networks, advises students in the PhD in Information and oversees student directed research.
