Every Learner Everywhere (everylearnereverywhere.org) is seeking three undergraduate students to work ten hours per week on special projects from June 15, 2024 through November 29, 2024. There is a work break August 19-30 and work will resume September 2, 2024. The work is remote, and we prefer students located in continental North American time zones who have availability to engage in working meetings on Mondays at 12 PM Pacific Time | 1 PM Mountain Time | 2 PM Central Time | 3 PM Eastern Time.

Every Learner Everywhere advocates for equitable outcomes in U.S. higher education through advances in digital learning. Our mission is to help institutions use new technology to innovate teaching and learning, with the ultimate goal of improving student outcomes for Black, Latino, and Indigenous students, poverty-affected students, and first-generation students.
 
The focus of the Summer/Fall 2024 internship is artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education. Student interns do not need vast experience with AI, but should be willing to research, use, and assess AI tools. 
 
Expectations for student interns:
  • Assist the Every Learner network with weekly projects. 1-3 hours of this work will be done in virtual meetings and 7-9 hours of this work will be done independently or in collaboration with other student interns.
  • Provide one interview for a blog post that will be published on the Every Learner website.
  • Participate in at least one student panel webinar.
  • Review at least one resource in development by the Every Learner network.
  • Take part in at least one professional development activity hosted by the Every Learner network.
     
  • Advise the Every Learner network on issues related to the student experience
  • Be available Mondays at 12 PM Pacific Time | 1 PM Mountain Time | 2 PM Central Time | 3 PM Eastern Time to actively participate in the weekly virtual meetings. 
  • Must have access to reliable internet, a webcam, and a means to do collaborative work on Google Drive
  • Set up or update LinkedIn profile.
     

What students gain from being an Every Learner intern:

  • Professional experience in digital learning transformation and racial equity in higher education.
  • Introduction to a network of student intern alumni and network professionals working in digital technologies and higher education.
  • A monthly stipend of $1,000.00 for 10 hours per work each week for a maximum $2,000.00 for the summer term and $3,000.00 for the fall term. Stipends will be delivered via direct deposit or physical check on a monthly basis. 

Qualifications:

  • Any individual who is currently enrolled or will be enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college with undergraduate standing during the fall 2024 term.
  • Students may be enrolled full-time or part-time.
  • Applicants must be able to complete 10 hours of work (1-3 in virtual meetings) per week of the internship period. Interns must have availability during regular business hours and especially for the Monday afternoon meetings.
  • Students with experience in digital learning (online courses, digital course materials such as e-books, open educational resources, AI, online testing software, software or apps that track your progress in a course) are encouraged to apply.
  • Students with training and experience or interest in racial equity in education are encouraged to apply.
  • Our organization's mission includes providing opportunities for Black, Latino, Indigenous, poverty-affected, and first-generation students, and we welcome students with lived experience in at least one of these key priorities to apply.

  • Applications will be collected through May 31, 2024.
  • Interviews will take place the week of June 3, 2024.
  • Applicants will be informed of their application status by June 10, 2024.
  • The internship begins June 17, 2024 and runs through November 29, 2024. There is a work break August 19-30 and work will resume September 2, 2024.
