Pimeria Alta Historical Society and Museum located in Nogales, Arizona is in view of the border
of Mexico. We hold unique collections on the histories of the local borderlands region that range
from Indigenous and Archaic materials to contemporary photography and art.
We are working on a federally-funded grant to archive and digitize audiovisual materials,
photographs, slides, negatives, papers, and art works. Our Metadata Interns will work remotely
to assist the Archivist record Dublin Core metadata for our new and in-progress digital
collections and create finding aids. Additional opportunities in community outreach available
based on the intern’s desired learning outcomes.
We are looking for a couple people each term for 8-10 hours per week who will work
independently and as a team. This is a paid internship at $15/hr that can also be taken for credit
along with the pay. Internship is 100% remote and can be completed asynchronously, only
requirement is a weekly camera-on video call on Arizona time.

Required:
Current MLIS student or recent graduate
Interest in U.S. / Mexico border communities and issues
Comprehension of basic archival studies and metadata schemas
Excellent digital communication and organizational skills
Collaborative working style and responsive to constructive feedback
Strong attention to detail
Computer literacy
