David Mondy

Adjunct Lecturer

Dave Mondy teaches in four different departments and two different schools at the University of Arizona, his multidisciplinary experience leading him to helm a diverse array of courses including Digital Storytelling, Theories of New Media, Creative Nonfiction, Business Writing, Technical Writing, Storytelling for Live Performance and Radio, and various Writing Program and composition courses. He has taught at UArizona for over a decade, while also taking time to serve as Writer-in-Residence at Randolph College and Artist-in-Residence in New York Mills.

His writing has been named Notable in several editions of Best American Essays and Best American Sports Writing and has appeared in two editions of Best American Food Writing. He also received multiple Solas Awards for his travel writing. His work can be found in Slate, The Iowa Review, The Cincinnati Review, and elsewhere. He received his MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the University of Arizona, and he's currently working on a book about the true stories and strange truths hidden within famous sports photos. Previously, he wrote/produced/hosted shows for public radio, staged live cabarets blending artists of many different disciplines, and created solo theatrical performances which he toured throughout the country. He currently works in many different genres, including collage art, podcasting, and video.
