Jack Myers is founder of MediaVillage Education Foundation, AdvancingDiversity.org and The Myers Report, all focused on developing and implementing solutions that advance a culture of learning and diversity in the advertising-supported media community.

Through his five decades of research and reporting on the role of media and advertising in culture and society, Jack has been recognized as the nation’s leading media ecologist and one of the most influential leaders in the history of the media and advertising business. As early as the 1990s Jack anticipated the media and advertising industry’s need to invest in and prepare a diverse workforce, leading to his creating the MediaVillage Knowledge Exchange where today more than 100 educational partners connect with professionals, educators, students and job seekers who subscribe to free daily MediaVillage.org and AdvancingDiversity.org reports and rely on MeetingPrep.ai and The Myers Report for meeting preparation and professional development. The Myers Report provided economic and strategic guidance for the restructuring of media planning and buying at General Motors, the introduction of Aegis/Carat to the U.S. media market, and organizational planning for hundreds of media and advertising companies.

Jack is currently a Lecturer on New Media Theory at the University of Arizona I-School, author of The Media Ecologist column at Substack and hosts the Legends & Leadership video series at MediaVillage. His honors include the Excellence in Education Award from the Global Forum on Education & Learning, the George Foster Peabody Award, Academy and EMMY Award nominations for documentary filmmaking, the Crystal Heart Award from the Heartland Film Festival, the World Music Award as its producer, and a Top 10 Most Admired Leader in Tech by Pinnacle Tech Insights. He’s written five books on the intersection of media and culture, including his visionary 2007 book Virtual Worlds: Rewiring Our Emotional Future; Hooked Up: A New Generation’s Surprising Take on Sex, Politics and Saving the World in 2012; and The Future of Men in 2016.
